Selain itu, berkontribusi nyata bagi peningkatan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat atau di sekitar kawasan pariwisata. Diungkapkannya, pengembangan pariwisata itu memerlukan peran dan kontribusi dari semua pihak, pemerintah daerah, swasta, dan masyarakat. “Masing-masing pihak memiliki peran dan kontribusi menurut posisi dan kapasitasnya,” ujar Wahab di kantor Pemkab Bima.

Katanya, Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Bima, ke depan akan berkonsentrasi sebagai fasilitator dan regulator, pihak swasta akan berperan sebagai pelaku dan ujung tombak pengembangan yang berhubungan langsung dengan produk dan pasar. Masyarakat akan dikembangkan kapasitasnya, sehingga dapat berperan sebagai penerima manfaat dan pelaku aktif yang mendorong keberhasilan pengembangan kepariwisataan. “Roda perekonomian masyarakat pesisir yang hidup sekitar lokasi pariwisata akan digerakkan,”tuturnya.
Kini, pemerintah daerah terus mengembangkan potensi wisata, baik wisata alam dan wisata budaya. Diungkapkannya, hingga tahun 2007 ini terdapat 45 unit objek wisata di Kabupaten Bima yang dikembangkan. Melalui Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata (Budpar) kini pemerintah terus mempromosikan hingga ke tingkat nasional melalui pagelaran budaya. Antara lain Pekan Apresiasi Budaya (PAB), Festival Islamic Expo yang diikuti oleh negara-Negara Timur Tengah, dan pagelaran rutin di TMII yang dilakukan oleh Sub-Bagian Kebudayaan Dinas Budpar Kabupaten Bima.
Dikatakannya, hal yang menggembirakan, setiap tahun jumlah kunjungan wisata domestik meningkat secara signifikan. Begitu juga dengan kunjungan wisatawan mancanegara. Hingga tahun 2008, kunjungan wisatawan domestik mencapai angka 9.770 orang, sedangkan wisatawan mancanegara mencapai 3.424 orang. Oleh karena itu, kata Wahab, pemerintah daerah terus berupaya memajukan industri pariwisata melalui berbagai program kegiatan. Ke depan, diharapkan souvenir khas Bima, seperti kain sarung, makanan kecil, madu, ataupun susu kuda, semakin beragam dan meningkatkan minat wisata. “Ini semua dilakukan oleh pemerintah daerah untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat. Mari terus dukung keinginan pemerintah daerah mengembangkan pariwisata dengan memperhatikan keseimbangan antara ekonomi, ekologi, budaya dan masyarakat setempat,” ujarnya. dan tentu saja ini semua harus di dukung oleh pihak tertinggi yang menaungi daerah tersebut yakni Gubernur NTB karena apabila aset-aset daerah seperti itu tidak di lirik oleh yang diatas maka akan sedikit terhambat nantinya karena bagaimanapun juga daerah atau kota serta kabupaten tentu saja memerlukan dana untuk melakukan renovasi ataupun perbaikan-perbaikan di sektor pariwisata ini, dan semoga saja Gubernur NTB senantiasa untuk melihat dan mengembangkan sektor pariwisata yang ada di wilayah NTB, apalagi kalau memang beliau sudah mencanangkan Visit Lombok Sumbawa 2012 tentu saja ini sudah merupakan suatu langkah bawa beliau memang benar2 ingin mengembangkan sektor tersebut, dan semoga saja Gubernur NTB ini bisa di bilang seorang Visioner di bidang Pariwisata dan tidak kalah tenar dengan Gubernur Riau Rusli Zainal Sang Visioner yang akhir2 ini banyak di wacanakan...Good Luck
